Takin the absolute p**s!

Just got a quote today from Adelaide.
2 Bikes Comp €531.05 + €45 breakdown
Quinn €657.53 PER BIKE
AON €706
Carole Nash €689.30 - €650 excess, no temp transfer to newer bike.

Anybody know of a reason to be wary of Adelaide. If not, and I've seen no negative comments to date, they're getting my business.

Been using them now for a few years. Personally I wouldn't use anyone else. I think they are brilliant.

Having to deal with the insurance companies whilst transferring customers policies onto my courtesy bike for the day, Adelaide are the only crowd who will NOT cover you on another bike nor allow you to transfer your cover onto another bike for the day

That could be an issue as I'm without my GSA for 4 weeks tomorrow and have frequently had to take a loan bike over the last 3 years.

If that use of a bike is for test rides I think.

Adelaide cover me 3rd party on other bikes.

Yes - you're covered 3rd party for other bikes so as long as the loan bike is insured by someone else you're fine 3rd party. I've been with Adelaide for 3 years and they've been great. And I had an accident while with them and it was all sorted and paid out very quickly.

But your in the North David, maybe that makes a difference. just had quinn quote me for renewal 2 years no claims TPFT 227€

No Irish insurance company would allow me to use my Belgian No claims when I came here:comfort

Plus when I changed bikes with Quinn there was no extra charge for anything, including moving from 650 to 1000 bike, I suppose its an age thing:D or maybe Ogmios's training cert:thumb

Adelaide policy does cover 3rd party on other bikes (make sure you ask for it as a freebie if not included).

They don't allow temporary transfers for the fully comp for load bikes. Duffys charge €30 for cover on a loan bike (not sure how long this covers you for).

Jim... Sending you a quick email...

i got a quote from adrian flux insurance for £185 for the year tpf&t with all the trimmings even riding overseas and someone else's bike.

I phoned my insurers and told them the renewal quote was a joke. what are they going to do about it? I've paid £200 for the last year and i havent hit any lamp posts or gained any points.

to be fair though.........the quotes have been rising since march. if you want cheap insurance i guess to insure it during the winter months as sales will be low etc.

caulfield, cookstown, £88 3rd party f@t. for 07 gs1200. (full no claim,s) don,t know if they operate in rep.

FFS, you should nearly feel guilty robbing them.
Most of them charge half that as a handling fee.

Quick update...

As my policy isn't actually due for renewal for another two weeks I haven't bothered ringing around about it yet but the kind people at Carole nash rang me today about so figured I'd give them the chance to give me a better deal.. They are now quoting me 750 euro. "Definitely the lowest we'll go". Quite a drop. Makes me wonder how it was gonna cost me over 1300 if I hadn't questioned them. What a shower of absolute f**ks. I'll ring all the others and see if they can do better. Would hate to give them my business after them trying to rip me off like that.. But ifthey offer the lowest, won't have much choice...

you boys in eire are being robbed... i have just renewed with RBS via TESCO for £86.50 fully comp..........(30 years riding, old fecker, full N/C, 3 points speeding Garaged, nice part of the shires!)

Just got my renewal from Carole Nash also. Quoted €432, called them up and hey presto, €350. Adelaide were the only other company who came close but no breakdown cover so staying with C.N.

Just to point out, I'm 30 yes with seven yes no claims and no points..

29, 5yrs NCB, no points, R1150GS

Nash €330 full comp, Adelaide matched the offer so I stayed.

You're getting raped..maybe it's your address?
