Takin the absolute p**s!

29, 5yrs NCB, no points, R1150GS

Nash €330 full comp, Adelaide matched the offer so I stayed.

You're getting raped..maybe it's your address?

Lucan? Hardly a bad address. The1200 is in the next insurance group tho.. Not that that excuses their ridiculous quotes.

Give Aon a bell, I stayed with CN this year after they halved the quote they sent me in the post. But I don't think it will happen again after the grief I got doing a temp change to get the GS serviced (it was for a S1000RR though) €15 poxy euro for a change, afaik Aon do it for free.

Lucan shouldn't make that much difference either, I'm in Dublin too and I paid €666 fc on a new 1200. Mrs B told me to ring them back and get a euro refund when she saw the quote, needles to say I refused

I just got my renewal last week. €439 with AXA, fully comp, only 2 years no claims and 7 points on licence.

You're defo being screwed!

Why, oh why?

got my CN renewal of €480+, 3 bikes, fully comp, 61 yo, 8 yrs NC, no points, bike licence for 39 yrs, and then got a call from Adelaide who undercut it by the best part of a €100. Very professional service.

Making note of some of the quotes here, I called CN who, after some discussion, were able to come down to €344, for 2 bikes.

Here's how it went...

Got my insurance renewal in the post today from Carole nash offering me a "competitively priced" quote...
1361.22 euro!!
Are they having a laugh?!

Rang Carole nash and asked them how their quote was so ridiculously high. The guy on the phone actually agreed with me! Offered me same policy for 750 euro, no questions. I asked him if it was the best price and he said it definitely was. Rang Aon and Quinn and got quotes for 700 euro. Rang adalaide and they quoted me 495 but informed me that bike would have to be locked in a garage. Checked out price for building up side passage of house and putting a roof on, working out at about 300 for all the materials and a weekend of my time. Rang adalaide back and told them this.. They dropped it to 425! Decided to give cn one last try, 496 euro! Went with them as much as it pains me to do so. 425 was obviously better but would have required some major hassle in the building department! So after about nine phone calls and a lot of giving out saved myself 865.22 euro. The funniest thing was, the day after my final phonecall with cn I got a reminder from them by post with their original quote of 1361.22. Got phone bill after all the calls and total of phone calls came to 862.22 euro so saved in total 3 quid!:JB

Niall as far as I'm aware Carole Nash policies require the bike to be garaged, check the small print.

I've had a couple of policies with Nash and Adalaide and both policies stated that the bike be kept in a concrete built garage.
