Please note, this article has not been reviewed by UKGSer’s own legal eagles, nor by their mates’ mates. Similarly, the “They can fuck right off / Its not wot we voted 4 / I’m going to Scotland / It says I need a carpet, but I’ve already got a carpet, why do I need another?” brigade have not had their say yet.
In short. If you transport anything in the back of a van it is now classed as freight and will be treated as such by Customs. You can thank all that voted leave.
True to form - trolling prick.

So, what do the carnet providers say?
As to whether anyone has done it, your closing sentence maybe answers that.
The chaps the provide the CDP (called CARS) said CDP is no use as CDP isn’t used in Europe.
The chaps In Birmingham that provide ATA carnets and do the ACU carnets for race bikes said that ATA carnets don’t apply to road registered vehicles, as they are road registered vehicles and not freight. That was last year though, when we were still hoping to get away to Portugal via Spain on Brittany Ferries, their advice then was take all the V5’s plus a letter of authority from the owners.
We never got to test that though due to Covid.
Easy way to deal with it. Ride the bloody thing there. It never fails to amaze me how minor issues can be blown out of all proportion on here.
Excellent plan, wish we’d thought of it. Problem solved!
If you could just, from your lofty eyrie, advise how 2 people can ride 6 enduro bikes from the UK to mid Portugal, I’ll just let the others know and we’ll be off!
You'll have someone along in a minute quoting 52% or 17.something million.
Actually it was 37% of the voting public who fecked us all over.
This margin wasn't enough to pass the Scottish referendum threshold, or any Swiss referendum, as these all require more than 50% of the voting public to enable changes on a constitutional matter !!!
The privileged elite knew how to load things in their favour.
So less than 37% of the voting public wanted to remain
There is an article, written by a motorcycle specialist Solicitor, in the latest issue of ABR magazine.
