Tall Order

I've been considering buying a pair of Daytona M-Star for the added height they offer but have some doubts. If the only attraction of these boots ( to me anyway ) is the added hidden sole woulndn't it be easier for me just to obtain such a sole and stick them in my current boots?

As far as I know the heel is 2.5cm and sole is 8mm.

Anyone know if this would work and where I could obtain such a sole?

I have a pair of these being a short arse.

They are super comfy, and I have ridden 8 hours in them in constant rain and was bone dry. They also did their job when I had a spill and provided good protection, still waterproof afterwards too.
