I'm a total Tosser !! That's out of the way then ! I've bought a BMW Tank Bag for my 2011 GSA and as it is second hand I don't have any fitting instructions. Now,although it may seem common sense to some of the wise ones out there but I'm buggered if I can figure it out.

I got a Velcro strip and a piece with a zip on it,which I believe goes on to the zip attached to the bag itself. Also got a longish strap which I assume is just for carrying when off the Bike.

I'd appreciate any help/advice please.:D

If you have the small tank bag then remove the seat, remove thentwo screws at the bottom ofnthentank and use them to attach the tank bag bracket to the tank. Replace the seat. The metal hook on the front end of the tank bag clips under the handlebars - it falls into the correct place naturally. The end with the zip connects to the other side of the zip attached to the bracket you fitted earlier. This will be a tight fit until the bag beds in.

Method probably the same for the bigger tank bag.

I think it's the large bag you need for the adventure tank.

There was a topic a while back about fitting the small bag to an adventure and requiring an additional piece to extend the front zip part.

Do you have the large or small tank bag?

Tank bag

First of all a picture is always helpful when explaining. So if this is your tank bag then you will have one of two options at the bottom of the bag. The old version came with the Velcro type attachment you stuck on the tank just above the seat and then zipped to the bag. BMW decided to drop this and replaced it with the similarly zipped piece that now hooks under the bottom of the tank. Both are interchangeable and most dealers don't seem able to get the Velcro one anymore but the replacement works just fine. The top one of the bag hooks under the serial number plate by the headstock.

Of course you may well now tell us your bag is different!

Still probs wiv the old Bag !!!

Its the large Bag chaps,I've got a Handlebar Brace fitted which seems to put the mockers on the front metal hook reaching the Headstock !! :blast

Anyone know if there is a way round this or does the Bag just not work with the Brace in place (poetry ! )

Thanks to those who have replied by the way, really quick and very helpful, thanks again :beerjug:

How much?

Solved :D the large GSA bags come up for sale quite often here.

I paid £80 for one in excellent condition. Anywhere between £80 - £100 seems to be the going rate for a decent GSA tank bag.

I have the brace fitted and although on lock it hits the bag it does not affect the steering at all. I've just done 3300 miles to Morocco with it all on and no problems even with slow off road manoeuvring :beerjug:
