I've ordered a Famsa tank bag for my 1200 , i have fitted a cross brace to the handlebars and i assume that the bag will foul the brace slightly , has anyone got a similar setup and does the bag affect slow speed handling etc , any replies much appreciated .

Hi Keff, welcome to the forum.

I've got a cross brace and a touratech tank bag. I know it's a different bag but it doesn't end up anywhere near the brace, in fact I've got a GPS mounted on the brace that even clears it. So I should think you won't have a problem.

As for slow speed handling, well it shouldn't affect the bike's full lock, and you won't even notice it in terms of weight unless you've got a few sacks of potatoes in there. The tank's the best place for extra weight as it's central and usually pretty heavy anyway :)

Hi Keff, I`ve just purchased the FAMSA tank bag for my 1200GS, used it for the first time on Friday & found it an excellent piece of kit, it does not affect the handling at all & I would be very surprised if it went anywhere near your handlebar cross brace. All in all its great value for money.
