Is there a tank bag out there specifically designed to sit on the main central rib of a 1250 GSA Tank? I'm looking for a bag that doesn't need a tank ring, and hopefully won't rub on the tank paintwork. I had a look on Winderlich and couldn't see one...wondered if anyone has one?

I've been using the same bag as Daz for 4 years with a bit of non slip mat under it and no marks on tank. Good bag for a reasonable price, only gripe is you have to fold all your A4 documents unlike in a Baglux bag.

Thank you. Thats exactly the same bag I have. I'll get some of that protective film. Do you just use it under the bag or all along the tank where the straps enter the seat?

I have a tank protector at the bottom by the seat and my non slip mat is under the bag only so you cant really see it on the bike and if i'm not using the bag obviously its not there.

I have a tank pad fitted but also use the protective film where the straps come up from under the seat, I have also fitted some of the protective film at the from to the tank where the velcro I used.

If I knew how to add pictures I would add them.

I have that exact bag, a very handy thing, but also a complete pain in the arse, when the suns bright and above, its like riding with a mirror on your tank, plus fuel stops are a pain in the arse

Its amazing isn't it? So many tank bags out there but still no 'perfect' one. The size of this one is fine, bit I have had the mirror effect a couple of times.

I have the Moskomoto Nomax and have it mounted to the front of the tank. There is a tank protection pad under it. I can even still access the little storage compartment without removing it.

I have used the same single Touratech tank bag on 1200’s (GS and GSA *), my HP4, HP2 Sport and my 1600’s, all without a problem.

Tank bags, like gloves and helmets, are personal things. You might need to try several before you find one you like.

* Pre-water cooled.

I have this bag and think it's great, but agree that the map window is

"a complete pain in the arse, when the suns bright and above, its like riding with a mirror on your tank".

I have put black tape across the entire forward most half of the window and cured the problem.

I did this, and then thought....why didn't BMW actually realise this..... I will say, its a great bag though, really well made and totally reliable in all weathers. Given the honking I have done I should probably just sell it! I am a kit/stuff hoor though.
