Guys

I am looking for a tank bag for my new GSA (blue the best colour )

I have looked over all the websites but am left a little confussed by some reviews etc. I like the BMW one and the tourtec but have also looked at the givi clip on style.

wondered what bags you have and any pics to help me decide. I have the panniers (no f'in locks yet :) ) so its just basically a day ride bag but fully waterproof and ideally something I can run power too for charging the phone or Ipad.

BTW - just had the 600 service yesterday first day for a damn good thrashing (top bike)

I'm very happy with my TT tank bag. I used it on my trip to Garmisch and it's surprising how much you can fit in. Has a larger map pocket than most which is important to me and I believe it has a sealed port for an electrical lead. It's pretty waterproof even without the waterproof cover which comes with it.

I'll also be on the lookout for one, but I'm fitting the Wunderlich up and back risers from my current GS, and on this bike the handlebars would touch the BMW small tank bag when on full lock, so I'm having a look for a smaller bag.

SW Motech bags connection. Tank ring means bag has no contact with tank. You have various power options and bags from wallet size to sports bike pannier size.

I have the BMW one and although it is fully waterproof, nice and stable and holds just what you need etc, there are two main niggles. 1. the map pocket is too small (well not small but a weird shape) 2. the top map pocket is very shiny and reflects the sun right into your eyes and is very off putting, so much so that I am trying to make a cover for it.

Thousands of miles in, my TT tank (the small basic one, that doesn't expand) is still top notch.

The A4 sized map pocket is excellent.

The credit card holder is excellent.

The elasticated draw-string to hold your gloves is excellent.

The inner map pocket is excellent.

The pen holder is excellent.

The ease of putting on and taking off is excellent.

Is is waterproof? No. So put anything you don't want to get wet into an (excellent) plastic bag.

I use the same bag on at least three different bikes, excellent.

Buy and use with confidence.

But how often are you on full lock?

Good point.:thumb I took it off when I went to the Dolomites, as I thought I'd be on full lock regularly, but it wouldn't have been an issue. I'll probably get the regular GS small tankbag.

Famsa tankbags from Winding Roads website... Had them on various bikes.... Really good

I bought the BMW one when i ordered the bike but now i changed to SW Motech and the Evo City.
Nothing in contact with the bike and no straps to hide when not in use... So now i'm getting rid of the BMW one

Touratech Touring
Looks well and a good fit.
Waterproof zips, no raincover....should be waterproof you might imagine.

Not waterproof.

In 2013 I purchased a BMW large tankbag for my 13 GSW. It has not weathered well over the past 12 months. I have had broken zip, worn degrading fabric on the base, the clear on top is developing a split and a plastic clip on the front has now broken, a new one cost me $45. All this for a AU$495 tankbag.

I would never part with my money again for a BMW tankbag compared to the excellent quality of my previous SW Motech bag.
