Tank Bag.

only problem is, they can pull the inserts out of the tank.. my mate had one and then realised is fuel cap was not working right.... so we had to re-melt them back in where they had pulled. originaly they would be put in with ultrasonics so it was a bit of a bodge...

I’ve used SW Motech tank bags for years and use the City Bag for day trips and GS Bag for longer tours. They’re great bits of kit.

I have the sw motech daypack which is small but big enough to be useful for puncture repair kits , waterproofs and the like . I don't put much weight in it and wouldn't want anything bigger on a plastic tank. It's on a tank ring so no problem when refueling.

I have the Givi ST605...no problems with tank bolts on mine, but I limit the weight. It's fine for storing the phone, wallet, spare glasses and that sort of thing. Everything else goes in the hard luggage.

The Engage is pretty big actually, I also have the smaller Daypack which is big enough for puncture kit, Kriega cube and some other bits and bobs. The Micro is too small to fit anything in though.

I’ve had the Givi fitted over 4 bikes and about 45k miles and I’ve not had issues with the tank bolts, if you over torque them I guess it could happen, but I’ve got Givi rings on the current GSA and the Turban, and have removed and refitted several times without a problem.

Good to know and would only put light weight items in there anyway so assume it would be ok.

The BMW GS tank bag fits nicely and is not as tall as the GSA bag.

Thanks for all your replies. Did not realize that there could be an issue with the tanks bolts, though it should be obvious that too much weight could pull them out. This is why BMW suggest strap on bags.

I have the BMW one, the one with the clear plastic "map" pocket....annoying as shit. In high sun/nice days it basically just reflects constant sun straight up at you.. It is handy though

They don’t make a model one for any bike you’ll have to go a long way to beat one of the Enduristan Sandstorm range.
