I have a 1200gs and I was looking for a Tank Bag. I have looked but they are all to large, I would like a smaller one just to hold a few items not everything I have. Does anyone know where I could get such an item?

Cheers,

Alex ........

Touratech do a small bag, suitable for GS.

Baglux do a small bag, I think it's called a City, but you will need a tank cover as well.

Just bought the new GSA/GS bag for my standard 1200 and can say it is a very nice piece of kit. It fits well and is completely clear of the controls from lock to lock, is not too big and is waterproof. It's a big improvement over the earlier model and fitting is better than the Touratech version, which I was using previously. I asked my dealer if he could give me a better price than the £158 they were asking and promptly offered it to me for £140. Seemed pretty fair to me. If you do,nt ask you do'nt get!

A mate of mine has just bought a SW Motech bag which mounts onto the filler cap bolts. They do a few different sizes, he has the largest, but the small one looks quite useful. Google the name and see what you think.

You could always try one of these DayBags from Touratech - don't hold large amounts but will fit essentials for when on tour including wallet, passport, camera, etc. Have bought one myself and impressed by the quality and fit - it is moulded to fit the 1200GS tank perfectly and not too expensive (for Touratech  ) at £70.

GSA tank bag

Just picked up a GSA tank bag. Love the quality but was a little surprised that there is no facility to lock it to the bike. Or am I missing something?

Good bit of kit but the blurb says capacity approx. 9 litres. Doesn't seem that big but very usefull for all the bits and pieces you usually cram into your pockets:thumb2

I've also got one

I've also got a Touratech 'Day' tankbag with the 'dome' shaped bottom to fit on the 1200GS tank and its a great bit of kit. Its been completely waterproof and keeps lots of bits and bobs permanently in it - waterproof trousers in a compression sack, first aid kit and fluoro jacket, camera, pens, Autocom cables, sunspecs, visor cleaner, screwdriver, cloths....you get the idea.... lots in only 9liters or so. I almost always have it on the bike because it has an A4 size map pocket on the top which is brilliant. It can take some fairly big road maps. It does get a bit 'steamed up' in the map pocket some times - ooh er.

The only downside is that you have to stick velcro strips to your tank and I've found, after a year or so and plenty of big trips, that the sticky side starts peeling of the tank at the top. Doesn't seem to have caused any damage to the paint though.

Overall rating...."top notch"..well worth the money.
