Has anybody removed the BMW roundel from the steel tank side panels on their 12GS and managed to get them back on again? If so, can you let me know how you did this?
Are they a press fit as well as adhesive?

I've tried a search but nothing is coming up, even back as far as 2008. :nenau

Its just an adhesive pad, I tried dental floss, the usual method, but kept breaking on the sharp metal edges, so resorted to a sharp, thin knife and they came off easily.

:) I think that not to many people done that , I can not see the point on takeing it off :nenau
I imagine it must be adhesived sticked :)
Probably you will let us all know the mystery :beerjug:

Are we talking super duper SUPER glue adhesive 'cos it sure has some bite?

old-style safety razor blade?

But - that will only slice the middle of the sticker - you'll still be faced with shaving it off each surface before re-sticking.

body shop who did my RT panniers used a hot air gun to get the roundal off.

I'd like to replace mine with a different roundel. Saab or Skoda for instance.

Been there, done that :D
Just be aware - you will have to answer a lot of questions on every gas stop.
