Hi all

Just pondering on if I need paint protection film on the tank side panels of standard LC where my inner knees/thighs touch, or is the paint (Triple Black) durable enough to resist marking.
I have only done a couple of hundred miles so far, with no evidence of marking as yet.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi
I cut clear protection pads from wide helicopter tape - just for where my knees grip the tank, also applied to critical frame areas - has worked well for me & near invisible unless you are really looking for it

I'd get it covered. IIRC, someone here rubbed the paint with his trousers within the first few weeks of ownership. You can never have too much protection.

I reckon the risk depends on your kit. Some have pretty abrasive fabrics in critical areas. FWW I put Nippy's protection film on from new almost invisible and saves the worry.

Thanks all for your replies, I have just ordered some 150mm x 3m helicopter tape to cover the vulnerable areas.
Also ordered fender extenda, head guards and rear hugger from Nippy Normans this evening. Nearly £350 lighter now, better not let swmbo know :augie
