Blimey! How many litres do you get in that?
Posted my entry off too btw.

I filled the tank on my 640 to the brim once for the Rydale. (25 litres)
Won't be doing that again.
I usually run with it about half full, and chuck a few litres in if I think it won't complete the last lap. Mine runs at about 1 litre for 8-10 miles, dependant on conditions. Obviously, your consumption may be different.
it is somewhat embarassing to run out of fuel though, when you are riding the two wheel equivalent of a supertanker. DAMHIK.

Just re-read your post, the timing isn't critical. You are given times for each checkpoint, but the Rallies are usually run very relaxed. You are not penalised for late arrival at a check, unless you are out of the organisers time schedule (typically an hour over and you're excluded) The specials are timed though, and it is the cumulation of these that gives you your result.
If you have any queries, look me up at the campsite (silver jeep towing a box trailer) or ask on here.

Mark, is it run along the same lines has time card enduro, but without the time penalty for arriving to early or to late ?

I've never actually done the Tarrenig before, but if it follows the format of the other UK rallies (one of which is also run by HDBC) then you will have no problem completing the event. The problems arise when you try to ride quicker than you really should, forgetting that you're not on an agile enduro bike that responds to rider input, but on a softly sprung, slow turning lard bucket, carrying twice as much momentum as you factored for, on comprimise tyres, on loose Welsh gravel.![]()
Bloody great fun when it all goes to plan though!
There are quite a few Rally regulars who post on the site, and all will be willing to share their wisdom/help/hinder/take the p*ss as required.

That what I have got to keep telling myself that I am not on a KTM300, and doing 70+ on the fire roads and hanging the ass end out going round the bends, otherwise it will end horribly wrong, should be a great day out. I am riding up and camping on the Saturday night.![]()
This years Rydale will be the same format ,but this year we have added another forest so the mileage should be a bit longer. The Ryedale had a refuelling stop last year, but it was out in the forest for the first day, and you had to leave cans to be taken out there. The total mileage for the day was in the region of 120 miles, so I put in enough for that. Day two was based around the start area.
I believe the Tarrenig is to be three laps, returning to the start area each time, as per the Hafren, so I think 2/3rds of a tank a day should be ample.
