Has anyone managed to do a decent diy repair on the engine/tank crashbars?
Mines an LC GSA and following a pretty static spill I have a couple of 50 pence size grazes. I haven't as yet, taken a file, emery or the likes to it and suspect this wouldn't be the answer anyway due to the OEM surface finish.

Just use a bit of wet & dry sandpaper, and they'll come straight out.:thumb

Rub it down so it's smooth and get the whole lot painted/powder coated black. Then any other misfortunes are easily covered with a spray paint can.

Cheers lads. I'll try some wet n dry. I did contemplate having them powder coated or sprayed. I'll see how a little tittifillation goes first.

Perhaps not to everyone's taste but I fitted black pond pipe (Split and held on with cable ties) to my 2014 R1200RT SE LC.

If it falls over or is dropped the pond pipe costs about £3.00 to replace!

Safe riding.

You forgot a bit to go over the centre stand cross member. Perhaps it's only on the GS it gets blasted clean of all its paint.

Yep! I like it, function before fashion.

It is an adventure bike, not a fashion accessory :aidan
