Folks when doing a tb balance is it acceptable to use the fast idle lever to hold the revs up or should it be done by holding the throttle open?

Do you use the fast idle lever as a throttle in your everyday riding ?

It was only a thought to give two handed operation for adjustment and a steady engine speed?

Open throttle, observe gauge, close throttle, twiddle, open throttle, observe results of twiddling on the gauge and close throttle. Repeat as necessary.
