TBS Earth wire exposed - melted plastic

Hi Guys, still having a high reving R1150GSA which at the moment just putting up with, but I notice that the earthwire to the TBS (Throttle Body Sensor) is exposed and looking pretty shabby with the plastic cover melted off....

What could have caused this and would it be fine to splice in a new wire?

TPS not TBS

Throttle position sensor which tells the ECU the angle of the butterfly and how much fuel to inject at that time

Who knows about the wire but seriously Go see someone or check the TPS setting yourself Check the Font of all knowledge in here for TPS setting

My guess would be dust and gas, because someone may have taken the TB off at some point and not renew the large oring in there, allowing gas vapor to come out trough there and unfiltered air to get in.

So replace that o-ring there and make another wire and connect it anywhere where a good ground screw would be, like on the gearbox (there is a spot there where I have connected the ground for my ABS relay mod).

Thank you for that, I have replaced the "O" rings in there as I thought might be a leack,

I'll take a look over the next few weekends and replace the wire, going to take the TB off at some point to clean and check them over anyway... and check the TPS
