Hi all,

The topic says it all really. I have a pair of the GTXs (and very excellent they are), but owing to a recent body/tarmac interface scenario I managed to break one of the fastening buckles at the hinge. I bought a replacement from TCX, but I can't work out how to refit the little rivets that fasten the thing to the boot.

Any ideas? My only thought so far has been some sort of press (which I don't have) or to whack the f*ck out of it with a hammer and a punch.

Thanks in advance,
Alan

Is it not worth taking to a shoe repairer/cobbler so you know a good job is done? :)

That's a thought. I've got a spare couple of rivets in the pack, because I only need to replace the hinged part of the buckle. That means I can try using an improvised press (a G-cramp) before I ask someone else for help...

Just had an email from the manufacturer, and they said that the best option is to get a cobbler or other leather-work craftsman to install the rivet.

So there you go.
