TDR 250 "perfect motorcycle" according to Bike Magazine

YPVS 250 engine , good frame and suspension, bonkers summer fun which if bought at the right price will cost you nothing to own. A lad Iknow has one , claims he will never sell it😕

I had an RD350YPVS back in the day, which through rose tinted specs was ace, I wonder how it would be today if I could ride it
Goes like stink, at least for those following...............
;)

TDR 250 was the most stolen bike in the North East at one time , it was beloved by burglars for it's ability to carry a passenger AND a plastic dustbin full of swag (usually cigarettes, perfumes, spirits etc) , it's decent turn of speed and it's albeit limited off road ability

Probably very similar to my Kr1s I sold four years ago. All drama , smoke and noise, narrow powerband so all or nothing acceleration. In many ways a real hoot on our heavily monitored roads. Daft 0-60/70 mph and visceral eg everything vibrates but you never really sit at licence busting speeds as its too tiring. 🤣

Contrast that to a modern 600/1000 cc bike which could match the YPVS top speed in second but …………without the “ soul”

I loved my RD350lc , but as a yoof it was too singleminded and made way for more sensible four stroke twins which I could tour and holiday on.
