Managing to find time in my hectic work schedule, I am fishing on the River Borgie on the north coast. Called in at The Pier Cafe in Lairg, and can pass on a hearty recommendation for the very good cupcakes and the quality of the waitresses.

Also noted the Crask Inn up for sale.

I think you are needing a holiday.

Do you never take time off,its good to have a break:rolleyes:

Sadly I did actually have to work and missed the Invercauld days......one of the guys I sent up got a 300 quid tip, a bottle of malt, and his man went home at lunchtime so the loader got to shoot his gun...two drives driven grouse.....bastard...... Got some to come though.

Quite a few..river has a lot of fish, mostly coloured, but also seen decent numbers of fresh grilse. Bit of rain last night might stir them up a bit. 12 for the week so far, mostly returned.

Sounds like your having a good time

Ooh yes and....and Glenmorangie, Glenkinchie, Glenlivet, Aberlour......the record was 3 bottles between 4....had to turn to Black Grouse..

Good man, could do with a drop of rain here as well

AND......... now back home from my wee sojourn in the north(14 fish for the week), I have to tear myself away from my demanding and manic work schedule and will be joining some motorcycling chums for a wee tour of the west staying at the YHA @ Gairloch for a few days......

Had a stunning couple of days in and about Gairloch, Badachro, Redpoint, Applecross, Ullapool, Achiltibuie, Reiff, Inverkirkaig, Lochinver.....just nowhere better to be when the suns out....and all only 3 hours from home. Aren't we lucky to live here?

Only downer was a footpad twatted a copper in Garve, nicked his 4x4, crashed it into a civilian car at Achanalt, legged it until nabbed by following rozzers. Road shut for hours....luckily wifey was not too bad after being cut out. Bet footpad suffered some facial and upper body injuries in the accident??

I used to live in South Erradale so you would have gone past my old house, brilliant area esp when the weather is this good
