Hi All

I've been reading the Techlusion site and they seem to be very good in theory. Have you had one fitted? How did you find it?

Many thnaks.

I've got one, had it fitted at the same time as a remus revolution,Y piece ,k&N so I can't tell if it individually made a difference............ it does mean that when checked my mixture is spot on and not lean.

Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to think there was a wall of secrecy around Techlusions!:D

I got one second hand with a load of other bits, went to my local race tuner who sells them, superchips/bb powerchips etc etc and he recommends I wait a short while and get a Power Commander. He went into LaLa land about fuel/mixtures/tricking ecu's etc but i trust him and will go down that route....having said that, the techlusion was previously fitted to a GS with no problems,,,i think it is less adjustable. If you haven't actually bought yet, send a few e-mails to various race tuners and see what the groundswell of opinion is??

Hi Mate,

Intersting. I thought Techlusions fattened up the fueling under load but didn't alter or trick the ECU to do it, hence Techlusions insistance that the bike must be standard. By that I mean no modded chips fitted or anything else.

But yes i can see exactly why a PC is the real way forward. I like the idea of custom maps.

Finacially though, a Techlusion may suit me better for a while.:(
Cheers
Dave

Dave I fitted a Techlusion to my 1150 then took the bike over to TTS to have it set up. I found it made quite a bit of difference to the bottom end and mid range which is where I need it the most. Also as was said before, If you change the can, y piece and air filter you'll make the bike run lean. So by fitting a Techlusion and having it set up on a dyno it will give you piece of mind.

Is the performance gain worth the money? - maybe.
Is the piece of mind worth the money? - yes.

Hope this helps,
Daz.

I've done the step-by-step thing: first a Y-piece, then the Remus end can, then a K&N. The Y-piece definitely made the biggest single difference. The remus can none at all that I could detect, just noiser. After reading about lean fueling, holed pistons and the like, I decided to get the Techlusion R259 fitted. TTS of Northampton did the fitting, which looked pretty neat. On this occasion, they didn't do much in the way of fiddling with it, just set their standard positions by eye (more of which later), and off I went.

Much smoother and seemed to 'pick up' quicker BUT much greater fuel consumption (tank range dropped from 200 to around 140-150 miles) and the plugs looked very sooty. I e-mailed the manufacturers (go to www.dobeckperformance.com) and they sent through some new, leaner settings and strongly advised me to set it up with a multimeter, not just by eye-balling the scale. This was easy enough (and I'm certainly no electrician, so if I can do it..... ) and lifted the fuel range back to around the 170 mile mark. For those who are interested, the settings I've got now are: C 3.6V, G 0.6V, Y 1.0V, R 1.0V.

I'm getting fed up with the Remus noise (baffle in or out) and will probably re-fit the standard can soon (but keep the Y-piece). I'll do the steptoe CCP mod as well. After those two tweaks I think I'll pay another visit to a dyno and see how she's running.

Too much faffing about for too little gain? Well, probably yes. However I enjoy tweaking the bike and getting the best out of it to suit my riding. But if you want to cover ground quicker and the budget's tight (and you're not into loud exhausts), I'd leave it COMPLETELY stock and save your money for some advanced training instead.
:D
Er, does that help?

Taipan,

I don't have a teclusion, but the bbpowerchip does the job very well and has quite a few maps to choose from.
