Guys, has anyone else had these problems?
a. When switching on the Zumo a load of technical pages come on and stay there?
b. The Maps take 10 to 20 minutes to draw at start up, and 5 minutes to redraw thereafter?
c. On the screen the Map freezes but speed, direction and the description line at the top still work while on the move?
d. The Zumo freezes on – no matter what you do (Following instruction on the Garmin site) it stays on, until you take the battery out?
Well these are my problems, I have been in touch with Garmin, who have been very helpful, they advised me to;
1. Ensure I have the latest downloads/updates – especially “GPS CHIPSET TYPE G” as this is software for the antenna. (Did this – Made no difference to the above).
2. Do a “MASTER RESET” as follows;
• Switch off the unit
• While Pressing the bottom right hand corner of the screen with your finger power up the unit.
• Choose Yes to clear all user data. (It did have another question first something to do with which country you were in – I just pressed to England).
• Once this has been done leave the unit switched on, outside in an open area in full view of the sky (Locked on the bike/in the car) for 45 minutes so it can acquire satellites.
Again did this – made no difference to my unit…
3. Next step to send the unit away for the tech guys to look at – just about to do this.
