i am picking up my new GS next week, bit of advice please, on my other bikes i have used telferiezer ram mounts which have worked very well replacing one of the stock fixings normally on the handlebar, you then have the ball straight away without having to clamp anything on. has anyone used this on the gs? if so is it best to replace one of the bolts that hold the handlebars in place? what size and length of bolt is required? I have Garmin Zumo 550.

I need to listen to the voice prompts from the sat nav without doing anything else ie phone, music, rider to rider etc, just really simple, not keen on hard wiring that part of it in so is the best bet a scala rider bluetooth?? are they any good?

Any help would be appreciated, can't wait to get back on the GS again, havinf a full Ackra system fitted as well..

Finally are the pannier inner cases any good? not keen on taking the whole pannier off every time while touring?

Hi Roger,

Can't help with the GPS as I've mounted mine differently, but I have got the pannier inner bags.

I've found them to be really good. They are very well made and waterproof, although I've never had any significant leaks into the panniers. There is some pannier space lost by using the bags, but they're huge when expanded, so it's not a problem. You are right about not wanting to remove the panniers - after a day of riding in bad weather and muddy roads it doesn't seem right to take the boxes into a hotel room.

Good luck!
