Tell him he is dreaming

It's easy to get carried away when presented with the opportunity to have your bike painted however you like. The temptation to colour code everything is huge. A big part of my job is advising people of when to stop as I'm often asked to paint 'Everything' ........ I quite often talk myself out of work in the best interests of the bike.

Let this serve as a reminder of what can happen when no restraint is advised.

However, it's his bike and he's clearly immensely proud of it. I'd rather see a bike like the one advertised than one that's been neglected.

To be honest I've seen much worse than that on the www. Not sure whether he'll be able to find a buyer with the same enthusiasm mind.

Yep. Can see why hes selling. Should have gone to Specsavers.

I quite like the Wunderlich bike though dumping the big W in favour of a small logo would be big help. Its even got a bracket on the side to carry plywood he's slid under the side stand.

I bought my first BMW just after Easter and one of the first mods was to change the paintwork. It's a Triple Black which is a nice colour but I just fancied something less dull, as seems to be the case with BMs over recent years. What is it with all these greys and matt finishes :blast

I'd been waiting for an injury claim to pay out for almost a year so I could buy the bike so had scoured fleabay for months for cheap used panels. I then had them painted and swapped them when I got the bike. This way I can put it back to original and possibly sell them on when it goes. I think colour coding the removable side panels also adds to the overall paint effect.

The blue reflective wheel tape is the only extra colour and I think it adds just enough to it. I also put reflective black 3M tape onto the forks. Partly to help be seen from the side at night but also to give some long term protection to the black anodizing from stone chips etc.

The tank decals were from GS Stickerman from fleabay and were put on before laquering.

Nice looking bike.

I'm assuming the shotgun silencer extension is to try and reduce the booming noise you get when the panniers are fitted. Does it Work?

Cheers.

Actually they're designed to direct the heat and crap out the back. I don't get the black residue over the frame or any noticeable heat on the panniers. It has changed the tone of the exhaust and sounds a bit fruitier, but not so it's obtrusive. The bike didn't come with the frames or alloy panniers when I got it as the previous owner had those plastic expanding things (which I flogged). I have now got ally boxes for it but the silencer extensions were already on by then so I wasn't aware of any 'booming'.
