Tell us your tyre mileages.

Real Conti Attack 9200 miles or 14,600 Km, my first replacement and for the next I'll be changing both, rear and front for Michelin Anakee 2.
Any inputs on the Anakee's?
Thanks

Omar ........Cheers

09 GSA just about to change my Battlewings with approx 8500 miles on front and back. Near the wear indicator, but rear badly squared off as I have been commuting up the M40 for the past 8 months :(

I think part of the reason that different people get different milages is about what individuals consider a fully worn tyre.

I've never got near the minimum tread depth as I hate the feeling of a squared tyres so 6k is about it for rears, whatever te make and bike.

9,964 from a Dunlop Trailmax on the rear; admittedly it was somewhat squared-off, but not objectionably so. The front, fitted at the same time, looks good for another 3,000 - 4,000. :thumb

'07 GS - Pirelli Scorpion Trail around 7,500 rear. Only replaced because they're a bit near the knuckle for upcoming MOT. I replaced front at the same time as it was cracking between the tread.

Good grip wet & dry - recommended.

Pirelli Scorpion trail now on 5k + and plently of life (56 plate 1200) (the new pattern)

Great tyre lots of grip but not confidence inspiring in the wet (probably just me)

i find squared of tyres are a bit skity in the wet because of the lack of contact.

Tyre life

i have tried quite a few on Gs1200 and found tourances the best all rounders
Average 6/7000 miles rear, 16000 front for some reason,
Rear pads 6000 miles,front 48000 miles

1200 GS '04 and have a range of tyres, both mixed and road use. Currently have Conti Road Attack and on second set.
Front: 12000m
Rear: 6000-7500m

Mine are filled with N2 as well, to give that "little bit extra" Very pleased with them, excellent in dry but less good in wet. Used all year (bike has 36000m now).

2009 R1200GS

Had Anakee 2 (not many posted about these yet) on since I bought it last year. Changed front and rear together on my way to Syria (9,000). Done nearly 18,000 now and still going strong. Rear is a bit squared off.

Seem to wear the front at same rate as the back. Its probably too much London commuting and life or death braking:D

Regards,

Path.

2001 1150GS - had five sets of Tourances in last three years: fronts average about 14000 miles, rears about 11500 but for some reason last one was down to limit by 7500 miles, Replaced it last weekend with a Michelin Anakee as Wheelhouse say cannot get hold of Tourances at the moment. Did 2000 miles on the Anakee since then and it is looking like it will last well - have to say if anything feels at least as good if not better than Tourances have done.

1150GS. 2003 Tourances changed as a set, first ones around 12,000 miles, several more sets at around the 9,000 - 10,000 miles. Currently on Heidenau K60's, 6,500 miles and the rear is squared and nearly smooth around the centre. Front good for several thousand more. As the blocks move around so much you don't get that "Knife edge" feel so obvious on squared Tourances so still confident to ride close to the edge of the tyres.

It weaves and shakes like a bastard on coarse "spray & chip" surfaces though if you're making good progress! Thoroughly exercises the adrenal gland:D

1200GSA. Got 15k miles out of the Anakee 2s that came with it. Pretty much all motorway commuting. Seemed pretty good so replaced with the same. Now on 12k miles with the second set and looking like I should get to 15k again. Both tyres seem to wear at the same rate and don't seem to square much, which is surprising considering all the motorway miles. I've always tended to be pretty easy on tyres.

Seems I could....

always used Tourances on my 1150GS and always exceeded 12,000+ both front and rear, am running Annake 2's at the moment and have just passed 7000 miles with prossible another 2-3000 with the remaining tread.....:D

At the present wear on the Annakes will be going back to Tourances...:D

have under estimated the wear on my Annakes 2's, just passed 10500 miles and still have 3mm of tyre left. Could go for quite a bit more.....:D

R1150 GS

Michelin Pilot Road (1) Front 10,000 plus miles
Rear 8,000 miles

Pilot Road (2) Rear 3500 miles so far very badly
squared off ?

:blast:blast just got a road 2 rear and pilot road front. I really like them. Here's hoping to get better mileage than that on the rear.

Any updates on your Neil?

tyre mileage

Tourance rear 7/8000, front 19000 three times now
Gs 1200 coming up to 116000 now

Since Feb 2010: 17,500 miles (Mostly a 200 mile commute twice a week)

Tourance EXP: Front: 6,000 (did have more life in it)
Rear: 6,000 (Very squared off, handling reduced, especially in the wet)
Overall: Tyre is very stable but is made of cheese when it comes down to wear rate.

I did buy another set (Tourance EXP) which lasted a little longer until 14,000 miles.

Michelin Pilot Road: Front: 3,500 (still on the bike)
Rear: 2,800 (Puncture on the A47; Balderstons changed the tyre in less than 15 minutes, awesome service)
Overall: Very good in the dry and wet, although not as much grip on overbanding and white lines as the Tourance; wear rate was much better on the rear. I would recommend for motorway commutes)

Bridgestone BattleWing: 1000 miles, in good condition have had some twitches on the back end on overbanding but I do have this mixed with a Pilot Road on the front. Now I have to decide if mixing tyres is bad or good???

Conti Trail Attack! 2009 GSA, 12,000 miles for front and rear - rear was well ready at the end!
