Ten bikes stolen in one night in and around Inverness!

They’ll be in the back of a truck southbound by now.

With that number of stolen bikes across different locations the thieves must have been well organised. I wonder if there is a common link (e.g. where the bikes were purchased from or serviced) that meant the thieves knew where to go.

Seeing this reminds me that I really must get round to fitting that Monimoto tracker which is sitting in the garage in its box.

Get it done now - they work very well (y)

Yup.
In France the other day I took my Voge off the centre stand to place on side stand after washing and immediately got an alert on phone to say bike had moved, together with GPS location on a map. My bike keys containing Monimoto fob were in kitchen .
It’s very clever .

and this boys and girls , is why you don't put stickers on your van , saying you have an off road bike !
I dont have a van, but.

I never park a bike at the front of my house or on the drive.
As soon as I return from wherever I've been, I ride straight down the side of the house and shut the 7 foot gate behind me. (its then stored in a locked brick garage)
Other than good friends and my closest neighbours, nobody knows there is a bike stored here.

Its sad you have to be like that, but you do.
Once scroats know where a bike is stored, they cant think of anything else.... its only a matter of time.

I feel for the people that who has the bike stolen
I presume they had locks on but the thieves seem to get through anything now a days. I hope some good comes from these bikes being stolen and returned

My immediate thoughts are, there's been a Motocross meeting in that area. After the meeting the scrotes follow the vans or trailers to their home addresses.

That is exactly how it is, how it has to be, unfortunately!

I’ve had a Monimoto tracker subscription for 5 years or so now and the fucker (fob) has finally given up the ghost. Over the time I’ve had it, there’s been over 10 false alarms. Couple involving me calling my neighbours to go check my garage etc.
I was about to go splurge for the V7, but the Apple AirTags do a similar job with the waterproof 3M cases.
No subscription and 4 for less than £100 🤔

Up until recently people around Inverness, Black Isle and Dingwall would leave their back doors and cars unlocked. Times have definitely changed………I blame the massive influx of Eastos!!
Never thought I’d utter those words, but our Asian brethren are a lot of things (including kid rapists), but not typically thieves.
It’s still quite safe in Fintry, but there has been the odd van spotted recently.
Biggest crime is stolen farm equipment (like quads), trailers and tools nicked out the back of ‘unlocked’ vans.
Think we all need to evolve.

Do you really blame "the massive influx of eastos"? Tool. I employed loads of people from eastern Europe, and they were just ordinary people like you and me trying to get ahead. Enjoy Reform.

We will.

But I’m sure you’re right. Must be the locals nicking them .

Basically any digital transaction you do... that links you to that bike...

Can be hacked, distributed & sold to criminals.

So everybody knows... what bike, and where you live.

That has always been naivety and madness.

Your vehicles are uninsured against theft if left unsecured. Is the first thing.

You think you're safe surrounded by quiet land...

... not in a digital world you're not.
