Tenere Off-road

Currently ride a KTM525 off-road but this is an enduro machine. I was wondering about getting a bike to actually ride to trails as well as on them, something like the KTM690 or perhaps a Tenere. Anyone here ride a 660 off-road? Does anyone ride one in the UK rallies competitively?

If you are serious about rally use then i suspect the 660Tenere will need suspension work front and rear (most likely a fork and shock swap) as the stock bits are built down to a price, works fine for easy trail use but will be quickly out of travel and damping on faster stuff.

Have a look at xt660.com. Some people have raced the tenere, but with extensive mods. Having ridden both I'd say the tenere is the better RTW bike but the 690 sounds the better bike for what you want
