Test ride 2008 model 1200GSA - Tomorrow

Congrats! It seems a number of new GS riders are going ahead and buying despite the time of year!
I just got my registration notified so sorting the insurance. The BMW insurance seems to be less than half what anyone else quotes! Anyone else found this?
Yep - They quoted me £290 fully comp in London. Cheapest I've ever had by a long way,

I've just taken out a policy with BMW online (as I'm in Germany on a course).

They were a little less than others @ £680 fully comp (£250 excess) when ebike were £750 also with £250.

I rang up the dealer to confirm the Reg for insurance, and found the bike was already in the workshop...

I'm home friday, flying back for a 2nd week on monday... So I thought "why not"!

I'm picking it up sat morning @ 09:01:bounce1

If anyone wants a ride out in surrey @ 09:02 sat, let me know:beerjug: (although I'll be breaking it in 'properly').

Your brand new engine will already have had a cold start and a good thrash on the factory test facility. If you are too gentle running it in you will glaze the bores and it will burn oil. Best to ride it hard. Plenty of threads on the forum of breaking in proceedures.

You have got an engine that is easily good for 100,000 mles (mind you, you could have problems with everything else):thumb
Only joking about this last bit.

Have Fun
