Am in the process of changing my 1150R for a 1150GS, test ride Saturday at SPC, the one I am testing is a Graphitan Reg No R2 JHN, has anyone seen or ridden this, if so any points to look out for.

Cheers

Gone....

and done it, didn't test ride the one I mentioned earlier, but did ride a Titan Silver one which is now mine and will be ready for collection this wednesday........ Was surprised how different it was from the 1150R in handling, GS was a lot better, even felt as if it was a lot lighter as well, steering more responsive, really enjoyed it.

I took a Rockster out last Thursday whilst the GS was being serviced in Inverness..............

I was shocked at how different it was. The engine was fine ( a twinspark) but the rest of it was a bit of dissappointment.

Like Mick, I found the steering very heavy......

the rear shock was a real mess.........400 miles on it and it had virtually no rebound damping (it was jacked up as we were two up).

Nope......the GS is sooooooooo much better IMHO;)

Her is my new pride and joy.....
Mick good colour choice but I can't allow those seats - they could be mine as I junked my red seats in favour of black before the bike left SPC.

Now as for your other vehicle - I'm SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED - what MPG do you get around Andover and will you use it to visit your local baker? :D

My other vehicle was a pressie from Saddam to the Army Air Corps Gulf 1. Never done the MPG on it, but about 2 gallons to the mile, and as for bakes, thats why he has 23mm holes in his dougnuts......

Have changed me seat for a nice black one, which I was going to do anyway, much better match with the Titan Silver, fitted hand guards and luggage plate in lieu of pillion seat. One question bike has Bridgestone Trail wings??? are they any good or whats recommended?....

Also .....

I find my throttle is very responsive, you only have to think about it and it's off...is this normal or can it be adjusted...

Trail Wings

Same happened to me last year. I lassed out on a new Adv fromSPC and requested the Metzlers as I had on previous..With great fun. SPC supplied with the bridgestones. Never had them before thought rather than kick up a fuss try em out... Result in dry fine in wet Crap!!! Where I used to to have a laugh became twitchy bum areas due to loss of grip. I would as would many of the Gsrs probably recomend you change em.. Every one to their own though.

Happy riding :beerjug:

Thanks for that Andy, did some research on the Trail Wings and most comments were bad in the wet, so went out and had them replaced this morning with Tourance's, which seem to be the tyre of choice by most people.

Would much appriciate some advice on this subject, are all GS throttles so responsive, as when I first test rode a GS in April dont remember it being like this one. Have scared my self a couple of times already with this ...
