Well all I can say is that I entirely agree with your initial post, spot on in IMHO.
I had an R1 a 1600GT which I straight swopped for my current GSA which is a keeper! I had some early two up issues having a fat wife which I sort of exchanged at about the same time for a much lighter new partner, and have noticed a low gear boost of torque, especially on exit from roundabouts.
I know a lot of these views are subjective, but this bike has really put a smile on my face, and feel my sex life has improved also; highly recommend what I'm riding, you don't always have to trade up to get ahead.
