hi, I'm taking a 2nd hand '08 RT SE out for a test ride tomorrow, apart from the obvious, tyres, brakes, corrosion, leaks etc,is there anything I need to look out for ? :eek

Check the ESA works, if fitted. Should be able to feel difference between the modes.
Basically, all the gadgets should work.
Get it on its centre stand and carefully rock the rear wheel from side to side - any play is bad. Don't be too vigorous though - you don't want the bike falling off the stand.
Hopefully it will be cold before you start it.

Seriously...try and get a test ride on a Twin Cam (2010 on) before you part with your cash. It's a considerably better bike and if you hunt around the cost differential can be minimal. A quick search on Autotrader shows similar mileage examples of 08 and 10 bikes at only £500/£700 apart...well worth it in my opinion but go find one to ride and see what you think. HTH.

+1

I love my TC, wouldn't even swap it for a new water cooled GS!
