I test rode an adventure yesterday, had my heart set on a GS but it has made me confused KTM, feels like a big trail bike and the gs more like a road bike, my gripes with the KTM is the clocks look micky mouse, and this is what you are looking at most of the time.
grips are very narrow and I am not sure but the riding position is slightly more upright and gave me a bit of a back ache ( not sure this could be from multiple test rides over the last few days)
heated grips have to be chopped into the loom, not straight plug in.
Bags of fun to ride though, did notice the fuel surge but the twistgrip on the one I rode had no freeplay which would not have helped, also the idle speed was very high (possibly to hide the surging

) wp suspension is sublime.
I asked about servicing £250 for first service

Might go with an 08 gs as it works out cheaper and it seems better value for money to me, and I loved the telelever front end and the power of the brake on the gs very secure feeling in some terrible road conditions.
I think the gs is the one I would want to go out for longer rides on, If I was travelling round the world on all road surfices I'd have A ktm.
