Evening folks,

Just thought I’d share some photos and thoughts about the R1100.

I use my ‘98 R1100GS year round pretty much regardless of weather, albeit when there is proper snow lying on the ground I will find the car keys. As a result it certainly sees a fair share of salt.

I use XCP rust blocker and then rinse the bike off every night during winter before a quick blast with the air dryer and then in the shed. Around twice a year (spring and autumn) I give the bike a proper clean and reapply the xcp so that’s what I did today. Anyway, I was really impressed with how it came up and shows what a good job of corrosion protection the xcp does.

You've made me laugh ...😂 As a fellow resident of Aberdeen (shire) and a fellow year round 11GSer I wondered what version you had... I think we may be different as to our cleaning regime...😂😂👍 Mine has the look of a man who not a cleaner even though I keep right on top of the mechanics and after 5 of these auld tractors I haven't had a Kalahari one... My favourite colour and still looking great...👍
The other 11GS I've seen is a rat/hipster version parked near my work and now I know it's not you ..😂👍 if I see the Kalahari I'll give you a wave...✌️

I've been doing the same for a few years. It's amazing how well they come up.

XCP does very well in this test, particularly in the best buy section where another very popular product doesn't get a mention
