As a subscriber to OS maps i decided to search for a walk I've done many times "The Rochdale Way"

I was very surprised OS maps doesn't have this as its an official trail.
So i googled it and to my surprise there it is on OS maps????

The search Feature is obviously poor within the app.
I tried "The Oldham Way" and the result was exactly the same?
I realise most people will have never heard of these Hiking trails, but they are and have been very well signposted all my life and became an official trail in 1997. Rochdale Way starts and ends at Hollingworth Lake visitors centre
So i decided to test other apps to see if its listed.
AllTrails - Not listed
Wikiloc - Not listed
Hiiker - Yes listed and good map, including OS maps if paid app
Komoot - Not Listed
GaiaGPS - Not Listed
Strava - Not Listed
OutdoorActive - Not listed, although some trails cross part of it and its mentioned.
RouteYou - Yes listed and mapped, however whoever recorded it went off course several times and didn't update their route before uploading.
This got me thinking... lets test the most famous route "The Pennine Way"
AllTrails - Yes listed in full and section by section
Wikiloc - No, But sections of it are as day walks
Hiiker - Yes listed in full and section by section
Komoot - Yes listed in full and section by section
GaiaGPS - Not Listed, sections are
Strava - Not Listed
OutdoorActive - Yes listed in full and sections
RouteYou - Yes listed in full
After trying this i tried some others too, and it appears the best app for database and path accuracy is Hiiker.
Please try testing yourself and see if the routes your familiar with are shown and what app appears best for you.
