Recently went from a fazer 600 to 1200 GS. On my first test ride I wasn't decided about the GS but second time out a week later I loved it. Did the deal virtually there and then and got my bike in about 2 weeks !!

I don't do many miles so it's gonna take a while to get fully used to the bike but I'm getting there slowly and still love it after 1000 miles.

I believe the 1200GS is actually lighter than the fazer thou as well as having the weight lower down. I can also vouch 100% for the (ABS) brakes, as I recently managed to avoid t-boning a cage at 80ish mph somehow.

Go on, you know it makes sense !!

I'm not sure Mrs. easty will see it as "making sense"!! although she did prefer the GS to the ST and both to my Thou as a pillion. So I can use that tack I suppose, as well as cheaper insurance, less wear on tyres, no chain and sprockets etc.etc. hell it's a bargain!

Next stop, Rainbow BMW in Rotherham, test ride #2 on Wednesday. I'm hoping for a slightly better deal than offered this week.

I was informed that there is a new colour for 2006, a grey one, almost black apparently, has been an option in Germany already. dealer couldn't manage to find an example, and try as I might I've not found one on line either.

Looks like if I do the deed it's the yellow / grey / black then.
