TFT / Cardo / iPhone Playlists - Pulling my hair out!

Offer is still there to physically help you sort it out if you want to pop round, I live in Warrington, WA5.

But he also seems to be missing the fact that the Packtalk has a dedicated GPS Channel
Have you actually had 2 phones and a Nav 6 connected simultaneously ?
As others have mentioned in previous threads, I also was under the impression that the packtalk only had 2 'bluetooth slots' available to pair with,
a slot for phone 1 and a slot for a second phone or by rolling the wheel forward be a dedicated GPS slot.

I have the following setup and working perfectly and if you watch the cardo vid I posted then you can see GPS pairing in action......

So here we go again

Cardo Mobile Phone 1 to iPhone 11 Pro Max
Cardo Mobile Phone 2 to BMW TFT
Cardo GPS channel to Nav 6
TFT to iPhone 11 Pro Max

Works perfectly, the Cardo GPS channel is in ADDITION to the two BT Channels for phones.

My TFT is in essence the second mobile.

I’ll take you up on that next week - the annoyance here is despite following that tutorial to the letter
I’m unable to access the GPS channel, once channels 1 and 2 are paired.

Very confused

The bit where I’m struggling is accessing the GPS channel.

Once I’ve paired 1 and 2, I attempt to go onto pairing mode again for the GPS pairing and am just met with three beeps then nothing.

One tip, when going to GPS pairing shut the bike down but keep the Nav 6 on, once the bike has shut down fully around 5 mins after ignition off.

Attempted and failed lol

Got the GPS channel paired by following your instructions, then followed up work 1 and 2.

That lost the signal to the GPS which then wouldn’t recommend

Drop me a PM with your number and I’ll arrange a time/date for when it’s convenient for you to check out the bike

Cheers

I found this in the comments section of Packtalk Bold Review by Wheelspin Productions. It mentions the separate GPS slot asside from the 2 slots for phones, have a read, it may well clear up some ambiguity, the comments are from 1 week ago, so weren't there the last time I watched the vid. I can only send 1 pic at once as I'm not a VIP on here even though I paid my £12 subs a few weeks ago ?

Potentially solved....

I've had some dialogue with Motorrad Germany who confirmed a suspicion; there is an aggregate limit to the number of tracks that the TFT can 'read'. No idea how to post a screen shot, so i'll post verbatim....

"Dear Matthew,

Thank you for your e-mail.

The number of titles is limited to around 2,000. In this respect, the problems with empty playlists could be due to a higher number of titles. Please note that music titles that are in several playlists are then counted several times.

Kind Regards,
Steffen Kraft

Therefore if you have a big library of songs, above 2000, the playlist function will not function. I'm gonna try this myself later, but at least it brings some clarity. A bit s**t for an £18k bike if I'm honest; the 'technology' which underpins this TFT system seems to be extremely basic.

The problem stems from the playlist and your music library on your iPhone is fragmented and needs to be rebuilt. I bet a number of albums have songs that are either missing or no longer synced through your aging iCloud account.

I had this problem for a while, until I decided to rebuild my iTunes library and delete a number of songs/albums that were 'broken'. When I cleaned this up, my playlists/albums/all music syncs immediately with the TFT and plays easily. The problem is because iTunes is trying to source broken songs not in the iCloud or on your phone - and as long as it is trying to do this, it keeps the TFT waiting. Hence "Updating"...

I have over 2000 songs, and it's not because of a limit I don't think.

Hmmmm I don’t believe it’s anything to do with iCloud.
I tested this previously and have never had an issue with streaming from the cloud; I further checked this by only having local phone content and disabling Cloud based Apple Music services, so there is no fetching of songs from the cloud st all. Sadly I saw no difference between the two.

The “updating” process..... well that’s another problem that seems to have only just started for me. I left the phone connected to the bike for one hour. Still updating grrrrrrr

Just sharing what I found out. Try rebuilding your library and deleting any albums or songs that are broken or aren’t perfectly synced across your devices/iCloud account. It worked for me.
