TFT dash warning message

that's bloody unlucky,id be wanting a loan bike and telling them to keep yours until fixed properly, mine also had a 4hr software download in the first week of ownership,it is what it is,they gave me a loaner and I came back to pick up mine when conveinient to me.

Time to reject the bike ? I would after four times and 50 miles .

Bike returned from dealers at 6.00 pm last night after getting software update.

Bike sat for 2 hours in my garage. Went out to start it......FFS:mad::mad::mad: 4 times now - 72 miles (less than 50 ridden by myself)

Did you take it to a specialist workshop or the BMW dealer?

Might be to late now, but is battery fully charged, if they done a 4 hour software update, and did not have battery on charger at same time, battery could be very low...........:rob

any dealer doing a software download will have to connect charger as part of the process

Battery voltage reading on TFT dash was 14.3v

Well it was a longshot, so back the wonderful steed goes, obviously and unfortunately there will be teething problems, at the beginning and later, but you either get the new bike, or be very boring like me, and get the last of the old edition, and hope all is good and fixed...:beerjug:

Now if the OP lived accross the pond, he could reject the bike under the Lemon Law. simples

Shame we dont have it in place here ;)

Yep. Emailed dealer requesting that they come and collect bike, and make arrangements to provide me with a totally new one.

Bike being uplifted tonight.

To be continued......

Dealer has ordered me a new bike. Delivery expected mid-May.

I did read somewhere that this was an issue with the "SOS" system. My bike didn't have the "SOS" switch fitted.

I got this message last week and took the bike to my BMW dealer. They said the last guy who came in with this ended up with a new bike.

Mine has been diagnosed as needing a new exhaust manifold and the error codes ultimately related to the fuel pump which they are not going to replace as all seems okay with it. Will get the bike back next week and see how if runs then. This is the fourth time it has had to go back due to error messages like this and I am getting a bit fed up with it if I am honest.

That said, the dealership have been absolutely brilliant throughout with first class customer service. I have also really enjoyed the loan bike - S1000R! Want one. Perfect companion to having a GS. :)
