Has anyone with a new TFT and navigator 6 found a way to get sound direction in the helmet, so far, best I've managed is bike to headset, no sound from satnav, connect headset to navigator and bike looses it headset connection completely, annoyingly everything worked on the GT1600.

Not sure if this is any help as I've not got the TFT but I have the Nav 6 and a Sena 10U headset which I've been using for about a week. The Nav 6 and Sena always connect ... eventually. But I do quite often have to faff around ticking the box on the Nav 6 bluetooth section to disconnect the helmet headset and then reconnect it. I need to play around to see if there is an order in which to switch them on when connecting them that avoids the problem.

I've had a play and I've now bogged it up so that its not working for me properly either! I am going to have to delete the blue tooth connections and restart. If I can figure out how I ever had it working in the first place I shall let you know!

So the sat nav isn't Integral in the TFT display then?
Do you have to connect through your phone like the nav V??

Your phone is actually needed to provide the satnav functionality to the TFT display. It doesn't have this capability itself. You need to run the BMW app on a smartphone which needs to be Bluetooth connected to the display. It appears that this app uses the location services and GPS receiver in the phone to generate the turn instructions which it passes to the display.

The annoying bit for me, if you connect Bluetooth to the bike, speech directions dont come from the navigator vi, kind of defeats the purpose of connecting to the bike completely.

I'm happy to run with my Nolan BT3 headset linked to the Navigator V, and then just use the TFT as an instrument/computer display, the way i have connected for years....with Nav V, i don't see the need to connect TFT to phone for a very basic direction setup......and i don't need to connect my phone to the setup as when i ride, i dont want too many distractions, i'll check the phone when i stop.

That Bluetooth connection to your phone will drain your phones battery pretty quick.
Mine only lasted 6 hours on a long ride yesterday.

I’m disappointed. The problem and the solution are both in the integration of the TFT and the Nav 6. If there was proper integration where messages were shared, then we could connect our mobile and headsets to the TFT only.
Annoyingly, I get nothing from the TFT via my Sena 20S and will check my Nav 6 this morning. The TFT is very pretty, but dumb.

I expect the SOS thing is useless too unless I buy a BMW comms helmet!

TFT software update mid November. Let’s hope it addresses the comms with other headsets.

How is the SENA 10U - any wind noise issues?

I’m booked in for my update in November with my service.

Wow looks like another money stealing plot by the stealers, cannot believe you have to book in pay a service cost for an upgrade, a simple wifi chip in the device would have solved the problem.
