I bought the anti glare protectors to fit to my TFT. Now I can honestly say that I didn't have a glare problem just wanted to protect the screen.

I have found that when the sun is on the screen it is almost unreadable to the point where it becomes dangerous because you spend to much time looking at the screen instead of the normal glance. I have contacted the the supplier and in all fairness offered me the standard ones but when I asked if the non glare protectors would be better they wouldn't say so I'm taking them off.

I was just wondering if anyone has had the same experience and also just to bring to your attention that fitting the so called protectors will make the readability of the TFT in sunlight worse by a large amount.
Hope this helps

I understand putting a screen protector on a mobile phone prone to be dropped, or on a screen meant to be fingered, but the TFT is neither tactile nor can be easily removed and carried around. On normal operation, there is no more cause for the screen to shatter or get damaged than the glass over the dial of previous instrument panels(and I don't think that was a common occurrence).

Scratches, with the kind of Gorilla-glass they put on the thing are very unlikely(again there is no reason to repeatedly touch or fondle the screen, as eye candy is looks)... Vandalism? well, a motivated f-tard would go trough a thin layer anyways...

Now, that said, peace of mind and all that... to each his own, but I must admit that I was blown away by the natural anti-glare/anti-stain properties of the TFT out of the box. I wish they used the same tech for the Nav 6. Now this piece of shit is prone to permanently blind you when it catches the sun's ray at the wrong angle. This one is removable, tactile, and could use an anti-glare layer(in addition to a sunshade)!

Worst of all, on the BMW equipped cradle, if you angle the Nav 6 down-ish, to mitigate the adverse effects of the sun, the first line of the TFT(where all that important quick glance info is nestled) is obscured by the bottom of the Nav case... I mean, it's highly dependent of your height and position but still, that is not a good design. It's clear to me that at the early stages, they planned to replace the Nav 6 completely (which may be what's in store for the next iteration of the TFT according to rumors), but were unable to remove it completely once they realized the software was nowhere near mature enough to offer a viable alternative.

So... 2 screens, who are not working well together, be it functionally or mechanically... Brilliant... </rant>

Have a look at my post on the issue , it might help. If anything it has sharpened up the display . You do get a reflection of yourself in certain condition but nothing to be worried about .

After reading your post I ordered the anti glare one from them can hardly see the screen when the sun is on it to the point that you spend to much time trying to see what is being displayed. Needless to say it will be coming off before I ride again.
