Just a thank you to all of you who helped me come up with a solution regarding TFT screen theft!

I’ve listened to (and respected) all the constructive opinions and the final solution has turned out to be (by our standards) a massive seller (I think we’ve sold over 40 already - not a great deal by some commercial measures but by ours it’s massive).

So, and indeed on behalf of all of us who try to make good stuff in Great Britain, I remain very thankful for the support and helpful opinions over the years.

If this idea stops any of us from losing our very expensive TFT screens I’m happy!

Hi Mark! I shall be ordering one for sure, looking at it, I can't see for certain, but which bolt holes does it reuse? I only ask as I already have your screen braces so I'm wondering if it uses the same holes and can it be used together if that makes sense?

Will these fit other BMWs with the same shape TFT dash, specifically the 2020 on S1000XR? or is it 1200/1250GS only ?

Hi pal and thanks for your support - it uses the same bolt holes that hold the satnav prep on and yes you can use it with my screen brackets too (as I have on my very own 1250).

I`ll send several different fasteners just in case you need longer ones eh (you shouldn`t), stainless steel of course - if you don`t need them just sling them eh.

TBH I really don`t know. For sure it`ll fit the 6.5" TFT screen (as they are all the same size) but as for the same mounting points for the anti theft brace I just don`t know - I don`t think so tbh as the windscreen mounting points must be different on the XR, sorry.

Whilst I wait for my new GS to get it's even newer calipers I saw it in the workshop yesterday and did think to myself about the TFT screen security & especially seeing as BMW offer Datatag/Datatool Tracker & BMW immobiliser, why on earth they overlook this. BMW are not alone as my KTM SAS had an iPad style screen that was also quite nickable..

Anyhow I have just ordered one so thank you for the heads up..

1 question - is it supplied powder coated black which I would prefer?

Thanks fella and they are all powder coated stainless steel by default - hand brushed stainless is a special order!

ah ok thanks - the perspex I provide is mega thick (but not too thick of course) as there`s quite a few out there which are ridiculously thin (but cheap eh!) but, and its only my humble opinion, I`ve got the steel one on my bike as I think it looks better - just saying and as long as you are happy that`s all that matters!

The grid wouldn't look right on the HP I reckon IMO.

Just want to prevent the headlight being damaged if I'm away on a trip & especially as my TFT is nice and secure so two less things to stop me!

Yeah it fits - the brace shown in the images is on my bike and I`ve got my screen strenthening brackets fitted too
