Hi everyone,
I was stuck in France a few weeks ago with ignition problems on my R65GS. Got it sorted thanks to you guys: Bumpmuncher, Sylvester, Bailey, Steptoe, Kenny, Phil Thomas, Rob Farmer, MotoGS1100, Graham W, Shafted. Merci! Really, couldn't have done it without your help and wisdom.
Checked everything you told me to check and it was the bean can after all. BMW in Rouen were asking £500 to sort the bike out. Got the part second hand for £100 at "Moto Casse du Sud-Ouest" (00330553401842 email: [email protected] Large selection of BMW and Ducati parts always available. An adress to keep) Got it put on for £15 and off I went From Britanny to Marseille, making my way back along the west coast. A beautiful ride of 2000kms without one problem. Glad you got it sorted and when you get back from you're travell's you can re-build the old can and carry it as a spare (as I did).
