That don't sound right to me !

Bought the bike 29/02/24, had the first service done on the 26/06/24, (had to wait an age to get it booked in) next service due....Not a year from this service but a year from the purchase date 29/02/25...surely the next service is a year or 6k from the first service or am I missing something,????

I bought mine in Dec 23, 600 mile 1st service was done in May 24 at Cotswold, next service due May 25 or 6600 miles which ever comes first.

The initial service is surely just a check over now that its finally being used properly and so they can check everything is ok

Sure is, especially if the running in service is done months after purchase.

Talking of which, my dealership said the running in service should be done at 600 miles, and that seems to be what most do on forums etc but the manual says 500km to 1200km (310 - 746 miles). Why is it most recommend 600miles?

My last 4 bikes ( ducati and KTM) have all been 1000KM which is about 620 miles and that is when the service light comes on and the dealers wont touch it unless the service light is on as for eg if they do it at 600 miles the light will still come on at 620 and need to be reset again

That’s a bit bonkers, makes it more difficult to pre-book the service and Un assuming you can’t go much over.

When I booked my 1250RS in for it's 1st service the service chap said not to go over 1000 miles but preferably do over 600

I got mine 31st August 2023, had the 600mile service done on the 7th October 2023. the next service is due 10th October 2024.

Agree, the 6,000 mile service should be on the anniversary of the running-in service (or 6k later if you reach that before) not the date of collection/registration.
That`s how i`ve experienced it with Bahnstormer.

Complete lack of concistancy - Mine says 28/02/2025 - I wonder if this is added by the dealership.
