OK, I fiiinally got round to contacting the chappy on adv site to make me one so I can fit an Acerbis Technik mudguard..............and he's not making any more:(

So, since I have ordered the mudguard already - alternative options please chaps & chapesses..........

Anyone out there got one that some clever tosser can clone some from?

Fingers crossed cos I've had it getting covered in shite, gonna put the rear guard back on instead of the R & G I think as well!

What does the bracket look like? Any pics?

I have one in the garage somewhere to go with an Acerbis I got off Timpo. Never fitted it . Funnily enough I was wondering where it was so I could have a play and fit the guard. must get around to having a look. If/when I find it then i'd be happy to lend it to someone to clone.

Ime sure Stefan who made the groupbuy bashplates was making a front mudguard bracket if that helps:thumb

I think thats the older version mine is a two piece

but the acerbis is not a great solution, i was riding on sunday and my headlamp and halfway up my jester screen was covered in road muck within a few miles, i could see the spray coming up and over the front of the mudguard. not sure if the ufo option is better, the tt option does work apparently or so i'm told

I had the TT option fitted to mine, it was a bit better but not much, now have acerbis guard fitted and whilst not perfect it is an improvement, if you look at stefans the front of the mudguard appears to be angled differently so this may be the solution? who knows:comfort

Questions questions!!

- Ferret, How did you fit the acerbis? Did you use one of the brackets?

- What "TT option"?? All they do is the Acerbis Technik mudguard innit??

- Is anyone using Stefans solution? Is it solely the bracket or does it include a mudguard too for Eu119?

- A group buy is mentioned here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=232066&highlight=group

do we have enough interest to warrant a group buy? Hands up please :type

the fender extender thing that makes the beak bigger ....

Ferret .. do you still have the one you took off your xc? if so i might be interested in it :augie

Pinky
the tt option is as Frosty says the bit that extends the beak of the origional, i bought my mudguard and bracket off Dib Dob when he sold his x challenge, i can only assume he fabricated it himself(not a bad job), Stefans as far as i can tell includes the mudguard as well!

Frosty i think ime going to keep hold of my TT part, sorry.

Group Buy - Not by the sound of it......

I'm a bit surprised not more interest in the mudguards - so I'll be ordering mine next week from Stephan - let you know whether it sorts it or not!

Should have done this sooner....

I had my first ride out yesterday since fitting this mudguard adaptor.

What a difference! After riding a lot of lanes that were full of puddles and mud, i got home to find most of it wasn't over me....:D

No crap thrown up in my face or over my jacket, and more importantly no crap on the radiator!!

I wish i'd done this sooner, definitely gets a :thumb2

which mudguard adapter? the black TT fender extention piece?

No! it's stephan's solution, which is a combination of a modified KTM fender, and a nicely welded aluminium bracket, that provides somewhere for the headlight to mount to as well- it is mentioned earlier in the thread.

I'll try and post some photo's up if you like.

I think it was about £100, but the quality of the work that has gone into fabricating the bracket that attaches the fender to the fork yolk, is easily worth that. It's obviously had a lot of thought put into it. i like it :thumb

Especially when TT want similar money for a piece of plastic that mounts on the existing fender.:blast
