is in this months TBM mag, very nice but £18k:eek: ffs thats a tonne of dosh for an airhead, i thought HPN's were expensive but thats a bit rich. I know theres alot of engine work done and 80bhp at the wheel is impresive but just doesn't add up in my mind.
hey ho what ever floats yer boat i guess.:nenau

not what was ment

I guess it makes your Camille look cheap at £7,000. :)

Subtle Simon...

i wasn't going down that route i was just abit taken aback by the expence of a bike with a standard frame and a few tune up bits in the engine. yes it does make Camille look cheap but as im now planning a full rebuild back to her original spec what i had her up for sale is neither here nor there.

Lovely looking bike Richie and beautifully done but £18k is serious money and around £6k more than the last HPN that was sold on here.

So what was in TBM then? What airhead costs 18K:nenau

the parts cost alone was 12.5 k plus the bike 2.4k add some labour and sub con services and you are there

I bought the mag solely for the article on Richie's bike.....it's an absolute cracker.
When you read the article in full you'll realise that the price he quotes includes all the development work....this is akin to the tooling costs incurred in the development process of the manufacture of any vehicle.
Saying that it costs 18k, is probably a little bit misleading as a single statement.

And to Richie I will say this.....:bow

Likewise, it's lovely thing for someone who's going to use it as it should be! As with Syco's bike, I couldn't do it justice, so it'd be wasted on me.

However, I'd like a pair of those bar risers from Richie's bikes for my g/s. I've got a beefier top yoke now to mount them to. Time to give Richie a call....

Remember, Richie's bike is a brand new highly tuned, hand built, rally bike. The build quality is far superior to anything HPN have churned out. The attention to detail is far superior to anything a BMW factory has turned out. A new Ducati multistrada will set you back best part of £ 15k, so this is in reality good value for what it is. Don't confuse it with a bodged up old airhead with a few bits of farcle bolted on. Syco, when you come to rebuild your bike, if you do it properly, you'll be stunned at how much it is likely to cost, BMW parts are scarily expensive even for bearings, seals and gaskets, and remember for a tuned bike, the cheap stuff won't cut it.
