Thatched property Insurance

Does anyone in the collective live in a thatched property?

If so, where do you source your home insurance?

I have lived in our place for some 32 years and have been insured with Halifax for nearly 20 of those, claim-free. This year they have decided they don't want to insure thatched properties.

NFU are bound to as most are in rural locations

NFU will only quote if I have a full surveyor report detailing the rebuilding costs.
Two of the insurers on the list haven’t even bothered to return my calls.
I’ll try Adrian Flux tomorrow.

I don't but my colleague lived in a place near Framlingham.

She suggests the following places and also advises NOT using the chimney and having fire extinguishers in the house, to help reduce premiums....
