Bods ask what the advantages of Gold over basic are. Here’s the answer:

Gold

It’s currently EUR 99. Is it worth it? I think so.

IMO I think it worth the full price , absolutely brilliant, fantastic planning tool with many map layers and so easy to share with your friends ( not the license the routes) .

Then easy to export to BMW connected ride app, or use with MyRoute App which also works in Apple Car Play .

I agree.

I bought the Gold membership when MyRoute was first launched, for something like £10 but never used it, much preferring MapSource and then BaseCamp. It was only when I bought my XT (with its compatibility with the Garmin Drive app) along with growing that I decided to give it a go. Mix in my growing frustration that BaseCsmp wasn’t available for an iPad / iPhone, the move to MyRoute was a game changer.

I couldn’t agree more, it’s been my only go to app for planning routes and aside from a few minor quirks it’s been worth every penny to take the stress out of planning.

Since finding out about it via this forum, it is now my goto planning tool. Tried the free version, which in of itself is good, but the gold is definitely worth up-grading. They don't make the free unusable or riddled with ads, but you can appreciate that paying gives you features which can help you (but you may not need) and I like that.
The only ting that bothers me is the 'pay once, get if free for life' - because very rarely is that kind of model sustainable. At some point, something will change - the ONLY time this has worked for me (currently) is using a media service called 'plex [edit] - and a server service called 'unraid'', many others I have paid for 'lifetime' use have failed or changed their model.

You pay your money and you take your chances!

I thought the same when I saw the reduction in price for lifetime gold. I subscribe at about a fiver per month. It’s the price of a pint, the amount you would drop into a charity tin. ie not a lot to lose . Hoping to make good use of it in Austria later this month.
