The annual Billy No Mates Tour

Thanks for posting, has it all really!! Fantastic reading, very interesting and a good news story for a change!! Keep it between the hedges and enjoy :thumby:

Doesn't have it all yet Daddy. We've not had any hot Kelly Kettle camping action!!!

I hope this will be remedied over the next few days.

Good work Andy, keep it coming. Good luck with getting back to the apartment.

I did the steak on a hot slab bit in Poland last year.

I’ve got a good reason to celebrate today, Mrs B went to see her consultant today and he says they’ve got rid of everything cancerous so 3 weeks of radiotherapy then that’s it until she goes back for a check in 5 years. I’ve gone a bit slushy and sent flowers with a message saying her I’ll see her next Friday.

Let your wife know Ken because she said keep her updated.

No worries bud; will do; that's the best kind of news.:beerjug:

I have seen the flowers on Facebook you soppy cúnt.

Where did you bury the real Andy?

Don’t be shy, where is it? I was thinking of doing a bit of a detour around the NE of Poland because I got punted over there by a closed road last year and there were some cracking roads through the forests with plenty of nice looking lakes to pitch a tent next to.
I'm a bit full of BBQ and home made Vodka.

That is the place. South West of Gdansk there is massive woodlands and lots of lakes. Roads of all kinds as I said in my thread.

Don't expect corner heaven. It is straight narrow roads with bends here and there that is used by trucks carrying timber or holiday makers with bicycles on the roof. Loads of little gravel roads that disappear into the woodlands. Best bits today recalling Walcz on 22 to Borne Sulinowo via Klomino on 20, Szczecinek on 20 to Czarne on 201, 202 to Rzeczenica to Brusy via 236, Lubia on 235 to Wiele to Stawiska on 214.

There must be loads more in that part of the world but be prepared to bounce around a little.

It was a struggle to type this. Not computing very well :D

It is sent from my phone. So fucking what?

I haven't read all of your report to be up to date but that is good news mate. More to celebrate. Here is to a long and loving life.

Unless it absolutely chucks it down I’m off to the woods to burn twigs today.

Gauja National Park looks interesting enough, I’ll grab some lunch along the way then buy some cans to wash down my chosen ready meal and find somewhere to camp.

Just looked at this thread. Lots of pics of beer. A great tour indeed.:beerjug:

I’ve just ridden 200 miles and decided that if the bike needs fuel then so do I. I’ve got a suspicion that the drink driving limit is lower than Home but I’m hot and fancied a beer so here it is

Next job is to find a campsite then go and buy supplies for the afternoon and evening.

Maybe when my satnav says turn left onto unmade road I should look to see how far I’ve got to go on it. This rear wheel used to be black but 20 miles of gravel changed that one.

The perfect erection.
Of a tent plus tarp

And at long last the Kelly Kettle has been fired up.

Yet another photo of my favourite subject.

Beer is €2.20 for 0.5l at the campsite bar so I’ll not be walking a mile each way into Cesis to almost certainly pay more then get lost on the way back.

I made it back ok last night without resorting to google maps so I’m a bit of a roll right now and I don’t want to spoil it when there’s no real need to. I’ll have a ready meal and bulk it up with some noodles so I’ll be ok for dinner.

I might go and take a photo of the river that’s all of 50 yards away but that’s somewhere else I need to avoid later

I know it’s not breakfast time but there’s no law against cooking bacon at 7pm and I’ve got enough left for the morning.

I’m getting the hang of cooking with twigs and small bits culled from the nearest tree.

You'd think with your sources you would be able to carry an asbestos sheet to protect the environment

Pretend you're French.

I hope you realise I’ve been doing the wood burning bit for you.

I’ve got a fire pit on the go now and once it’s burning properly I’ll take a photo so you can see that I’ve gone bush big time and the next step is cooking roadkill squirrels.

Here it is, the promised photo of fire. It dawned on me that I’m halfway through with 5 down and 5 to go and it doesn’t get a lot better than camping by a river in Latvia with a bastard great big fire to keep the mozzies at bay.

I’ve had a laugh so far and the camping tonight cost me €5 with firewood part of the price so I’m like a dog with 2 dicks right now.

Tomorrow, well that’s another day and I’ve no idea where I’ll go but the hill of crosses seems a good idea and after that I’ll just go wherever my nose is pointing.

If this thread prompts someone else to just clear off and go for a random tour then great, if it goes well then thank me, if it goes badly wrong then go again the next year because it’ll work out right eventually.
