The antidote for common sense (BMW)

It's lovely :)

Are they quite hard to get hold of now or just ones in good nick that are hard to find?

Andres

Both I think !

Not many left in good nick apparently .

I've ridden most models of KTM and many of them float my boat, but after a whizz out today I can say this is the finest bike I've ever ridden.

I'd always wanted one and after a short ride on RobbieC's last year, my hands were shaking so much I couldn't roll a smoke. It fitted like a glove and was by far the most exciting bike out there for my needs (wants).

It seemed impossible to source a decent one so instead came close to buying a HP2, or at least I thought I did, but the owner was full of shite

After much searching I eventually found the right one and have spent a lot of time and effort getting it sorted and that's ongoing.

Anyway, I'm not going to piss on any 1190R/HP2/690 owners chips, so just a few photos from today :beerjug:

Holy sweet mother of god, that looks amazing and completely mental.....I want one!!!

I find myself being drawn towards the orange side, I quite fancy a KTM to supplement the GSA next year - what would be considered a Sports Tourer in their range?

Don't go in to a ktm dealer and ask for a 'sports tourer' as they'll probably send you to the nearest bmw dealer 😉.

I can see that 1150 GSA going

Ha yes it would but working/riding in the cold on it today, there's no other bike I'd have rather been on than the 1150, muffs, heated jacket, bald rear tyre ....bliss :D

But out for a blast in the mountains with a few lanes thrown in, the SE beats it hands down.

You need one Johnny, if one of these doesn't get your mojo back then nothing will :bounce1

Man of your means ........ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2009-KTM-...609916?hash=item2cb609167c:g:Z50AAOSwXeJYMZth

Such a beautiful bike to work on and I'm continually making improvements and alterations.

Made an exhaust heat shield from an old Montesa chain guard, much better and cheaper than the Touratwat offering:)

Also my good friend Geoff made me some extensions for the Pivotpegz, they're brilliant and much needed on this bike.
If you want a some making for your bike give gncpr57 on here a shout :thumb2

I see what you mean about the clutch cover now Tim! :thumb

Yes a bit blingy but a quick tell tale if the water pump seals leak although I'm just about to rebuild that with a hardened shaft etc. so hopefully it's very unlikely to fail at all then..... I hope!

Lovely bikes. I had a 950SM in 2005, one of the first in the country and loved it . Had a good look at the Enduro when they came out and wish I'd bought one then . As you say hard to find now enjoy your bike:thumby:

After lots more fiddling with the bike, thought it should go for a loaded up trial run today.

Perfect... well almost :D :beerjug:
