The battery positive charging terminal just spins and won't unscrew. Any tips of fixing it?

Hi all, the battery positive charging terminal under the battery cover on my 2021 R1250GS has decided to fight back. I wanted to unscrew it to connect an accessory under the positive lead and the torx just spins. There doesn't seem to be any easy access to the rear of it either. Any suggestions as to a fix would be very welcome.

Cheers

Sounds like somebody has overtightened it and stripped the threads (no accusations !).

You probably need to pry beneath it whilst unscrewing.

Disconnect the battery end first !

Just grab the head perpetually with a pair of mawl grips and pull up until you feel resistance while turning anti clockwise (lol).
If that doesn’t work - come back. 👍

Pry bar to get some upward force in the screw if not working cut it with a dremel and disc and new screw / nut

it's easy to take the neg off the battery, a bit of tape and you're safe from surprises whilst undoing the hot side. Though it looks like you've already taken the battery out.

It's screwed to a plastic thing as it is obviously insulated from the frame. I presume there are other things connected behind it, like the vehicle +12V wiring to the fuses and alternator, rather than just a nut.

Can you take a photo from behind with your phone?

Pulling on it might help it get hold of the female thread and unscrew, but don't pull hard enough to break whatever it's attached to, or life will get way more expensive.
