Townhead cafe in Biggar does a braw fish supper and the roads down that neck o the woods are not too bad ...
No! No, no, no! Townhead's not got anything on Chris's, the other chippy in Biggar (next to the RBS). Every time I went to Townhead I came away disappointed, over-cooked chips and bland fish with batter you could use to bang nails in. Chris's, on the other hand, had decent chips, a good bit of fish and were that little bit greasy rather than dry. Better value too and the staff weren't stroppy little kids who looked at you as though you'd just asked for a go on their mum.

I think they've just renamed Chris's to The First Chippy or the Original or something. I moved out of Biggar around the same time (although not because they changed the name).

Aye. I should have said that Meely Puddins ARE white puddins
Years ago, on holiday with an ex-girlfriend and we had a fish supper, first time she'd seen white pudding on sale. She asked the bloke whether white pudding was made with white blood cells and they kept the red cells for black pudding.

I take it she had a cracking pair of tits and that was the attraction? :D
