Got myself a pair of Magnum Amazon 3 boots from an army surplus stall at an event a couple of weeks back.

They were 2nd hand (the name of the squaddy who had them before was written inside :blast) but almost brand new.....no damage to sole or outers, brand new laces etc.

I'm wearing them on the bike even though they have no hard protection......They won't be waterproof, but in this hot weather, I have to say I love them :thumb2

Designed apparently for Military use in the desert, they are light and by a LONG way the most comfy boots I've had......they lace up really fast one pull and they tighten right up from top to bottom the way I have them laced) and they are very secure on my feet, as they come up well above the ankle.

I'm primarily using them as ride-to-work then work-in boots, and they meet the safety standards (so the bumph says)

Very happy with them, and in dry conditions when touring two up, I'll be using these from now on both on and off the bike :thumb2

The best bit?

They only cost me a tenner :clap :JB

(Oh, and I can drive the car in them as well......I've got a couple of pairs of work boots that are too wide to do that safely in, with my big feet (size13) but these ones are slimmer and slightly narrower toed)

You'd guess wrong then.

technical pants , that's what my balls nestle inside :thumb2

Are you stalking me with your perverted imagination by the way?

It's ok, everyone needs a hobby, but I might have to start charging :P

Never been impressed with the old Magnum boots. Always felt hot to wear and not as substantial as other makes. Yours are made for the desert are they very breathable?

Oh the irony....:blast Who was it posted up pics of my very fine merino wool, Icebreaker boxers.....?

Just so that you don't fret - today's are rather nice Ex Officio ones that I bought in Moab, last time we were there........:comfort

Well let's put it this way.......I've been wearing them over the last couple of days in an airless shed and my feet have felt very comfortable....socks dry and not the slightest bit offensive when I take them off at night.

I guess that means they are :thumb2

Ace........

Send pics as normal? :augie

Mmmmmm tactical

Joking aside, they are :D

They open up nice and wide to get on, and there's a big (proper sized tuggable loop) tag on the back to pull them on with, rather than the pathetic little tag that some boots have. :thumb2

I can understand the reason they're sold to the forces and plod.......easy and fast to get on yet secure WHEN on....and nice for an old fat bloke with a bad back and a mistrust of any fart to pull on early in the morning :blast

Had these issued in Iraq in 2004 because the MOD had run out of desert boots lol, good boots, dont know how they would fare in a serious off, however very comfy and light :Motomartin

magnums

Have worn magnums every day for the last 6yrs, without doubt the Best, Most comfortable & shiney (I believe in polishing) boots I have ever worn am now on my forth pair with another in reserve. I am also size 14 (kin bigfoot!)
